During 3rd grade recess, a male student placed a post-it note on a girl’s back which read “you suck dick for a dollar.” Though the gym had cameras, the principal informed me “it’s too much work to figure out who did it.” I was appalled and told the student the principal was very upset and working to figure out who wrote it.

I teach 7th-8th grade student with Emotional Disabilities. Another teacher has 6th-7th grade. At the end of the year, all teachers get together in the conference room to discuss next year’s rosters. I walk into the meeting like it’s draft day and I need to make the first selections before all of the “good ones” are taken…but seriously though, I love my job and all my students! This is my second year teaching and even though this age group is very difficult, I love that I can joke around with them and really form a bond with them.

We ALL know the last two weeks of school is insane… grades due, field days, testing, ‘full moon must be out’ behavior, EVERYTHING due yesterday, exhaustion… so we had in one day (Friday, of course) -our last observation walkthrough right as we are lining up for recess, a lock-down practice, tornado drill AND evacuation practice. Oh, yes, they rewarded all kids with a popsicle at lunch on the day we had to be silent for other grades to state test. Is it summer yet?

We have two assistant principals with opposing ideas of classroom management. They take turns doing the observation walkthroughs. So this is the review remarks I received.
AP A: Don’t worry about the little toys they bring in. Pick your battles. I’m sending you this long article about classroom management.
AP B: He had a toy. I’m sending you this long article about classroom management.

I was really struggling to deal with a kid at my old school- attention span of zero, aggression, self confidence issues, lack of respect for any kind of adult figure due to previous traumas.
The boss didn’t believe there was an issue until she came to my room one day and had a chair thrown at her head.
My AP suggested, when I asked for additional support time, that I visit my doctor and ask for some ‘coping medication’.
First contract I have ever broken early.

I had to leave a job for personal reasons but came back for yr 6 graduation. The ‘trouble’ student everyone complained about (and whom I got on well with) ran up to me with a fist pump and a hug when I arrived. Such a great feeling to know I had a positive impact on this kid.

I recently had an op on my foot and had to take longer leave than I initially planned. Which as we know- teachers must rather DIE then miss school. I didn’t even get a get well soon card from my school! I’ve been there for 6 years. However my Grade 7s found my address and sent roses to my home…and THATS why I teach!!!! Not for adults. Small humans matter. Let’s be honest sometimes grown ups suck!!!!

We’ve had two threats in two weeks of one kid bringing a bb gun to school and another who said “I’m going to shoot you all up.” The kid who made the verbal threat got away Scot free because his IEP was expired. Um, what? We were not In Compliance, but these are our lives:(

Once i have to take test of students. One of my student stand up and asked me that she is feeling nausea so she can’t appear in test. I asked her what is issue right here and I’ll not take test again. She said she’s feeling suffocated in room. She actually want to go out and enjoy. I ask her to sit near door and write your answer that part of class was much airy. She said no madam its ok to be here if i have to do test by hook or crook 😅

I teach 3rd grade. We were walking in line when I tell one of my learners that he needs to be still in line ( I can’t remember now what he was doing). Without skipping a beat he says, “If I were still I wouldn’t be able to walk.” I stopped in mid stride. He’s lucky he caught me on a good day, because I couldn’t hold it in and just started busting up laughing. If he had said that after the day I had today, he’d be feeling my wrath.
