Teacher Horoscopes: How You Should Spend Your Summer Break Based on Your Sign

teacher horoscopes summer

This summer break and back to school plans are anything but predictable. Don’t know where to begin or how to feel? Maybe these horoscopes will help.

Virgo (August 24-September 22)

You are known for being a perfectionist who prefers to have boundaries and follow the rules.

As you run through the mental checklist of how many bottles of hand sanitizer and containers of Clorox wipes you still have stored in your classroom closet, remember to take time for yourself. You will not get this all right, none of us will. Relax, and remember that the perfect teacher is the one who simply shows up for their students. You’ve got this!

Libra (September 23- October 23)

Though you value balance and harmony, you are also notoriously indecisive.

You’re so ready to get back to work, no matter the circumstances! But some days, you’re also checking the help wanted ads for a new job… Sound accurate? While you’ll probably be looking all over the internet for cloth masks, face shields, football helmets, bubble suits, and inflatable t-rex costumes to get ready for next year, try to find time to relax. Spend this summer with those closest to you, the people you can enjoy time with, but also irrationally plan your escape to a new life with.

Scorpio (October 24-November 22)

“If you love something, set it free.” Not if you are a Scorpio! Instead, you hold on tightly.

It’s difficult to leave the school year behind without having said a true goodbye to the students whom you had loved all year. Resist the urge to keep emailing them every day, and stalking them (or their parents) on Instagram. It’s summer, they are splashing in a pool, eating popsicles, and riding bikes in the street. While the end of the year was hard, they’re over it, because kids love summer. So, get yourself one of those inflatable pools and splurge on that margarita blender you’ve had your eye on. You’ve earned it (especially since you didn’t get any end of the year gifts!)

Sagittarius (November 23-December 21)

You’re an explorer with an adventurous, fun-loving spirit. Summer of 2020 might seem like a disaster to most, but not to you.

Truthfully, we all could use a little bit of Sagittarius in us this summer. Do what you do best, go on adventures, expand your horizons, indulge in knowledge and experiences, just do it from a good distance. Teach us your ways, Sagittarius, because although people think you are afraid of commitment, it would be good for every teacher to detach for a while and spend some time on self-care.

Capricorn (December 22-January 20)

Your hardworking, serious nature often gets you labeled as the not-so-fun one, but those who are close to you know that isn’t true.

This summer, work on letting go of as much of your strong sense of responsibility as you can. It will be very hard because it’s basically the anti-you. However, the world has shut down, planning for the school year is impossible, and your hard work will most likely all get scrapped anyway. So take a breather. Netflix is exploding with shows waiting to be watched. Afterall, bingeing an entire series in one weekend also takes fierce commitment, but you can do it in sweatpants.

Aquarius (January 21-February 18)

Although you have a nurturing spirit, you are also an independent, free-thinking firecracker who is ready to say “bye Felicia!” to the school year and everyone else’s opinions.

Stay away from social media this summer, and all the internet trolls who know how to push your buttons. Spend this summer off the grid, far off the grid, maybe in a cabin in the middle of nowhere, where the only way to communicate is via carrier pigeon. Reconnect with yourself and get some well-deserved rest.

Pisces (February 19-March 20)

You lead with your heart and are overwhelmed with compassion for others.

This summer step away from the screen and get your hands dirty in art or gardening. Yes, you have made an amazing virtual world for your teacher bitmoji, but now is the time to invest in the 3 dimensional, actually breathing version of you. So do yourself a favor and set up an automated “out of the office” response on your email and enjoy the sunset.

Aries (March 21-April 20)

You are not good at waiting. Patience? What’s that? “Let’s do this” is your personal motto.

This summer might drive you to your breaking point with the ever-changing guidelines, the curves flattening then skyrocketing, the disagreements over whether to mask or not to mask, and the absolute uncertainty about the next school year. Try meditation? Yoga? If that doesn’t work, then maybe a complete home renovation to keep your mind and hands busy while we continue to wait and see.

Taurus (April 21-May 21)

You are a loyal teacher who plans out the school year before it begins, leaving no room for error or the 12 random assemblies and field trips that suddenly get thrown in at the last minute.

The good news is that as a Taurus, you are well-grounded and know how to kick back and enjoy nature. Tap into that laziness and chill out. The pool is calling your name, and the best part is that kids aren’t allowed to come within 6 feet of you while you’re there. If you see a student, wave from a distance and enjoy the sunshine.

Gemini (May 22-June 21)

You are adaptable, curious, and blend into different environments easily, which helped you handle all the craziness of the end of the school year fairly well.

This summer will be a struggle for you, as finding a balance between work and play won’t be easy. Once you start planning for next school year, there will be a backup plan to consider, and a backup to the backup plan. So instead of stressing over it, find some open outdoor establishments, grill out with friends (10 or less obviously), and try out some Pinterest bread recipes. Since juggling work and play won’t be easy, you might as well perfect the play part.

Cancer (June 22-July 22)

Intuitive and sensitive, you experience all the emotions, sometimes all at once, but that’s not always a bad thing.

You’re in luck this summer because we aren’t allowed to congregate in large groups, and you prefer smaller settings anyway. Channel your sadness over the end of the year and frustration about how the next school year is set to begin into your loyalty. Check-in on your kids every week, help out with the meal programs and find the perfect meme to send to your teacher group chat that will both enrage them and crack them up.

Leo (July 23-August 23)

A hard-working, natural leader, you are ready to take the summer back-to-school planning by storm.

This summer, challenge yourself to step back and to say no. When your school administration calls with the “exciting opportunity” to lead a committee on health and safety, try not answering the phone. But since your go-getter personality probably won’t be satisfied with that, simply agree to participate, and maybe not lead? Then pencil some time into your busy agenda to do absolutely nothing, except maybe drink a lot of wine.

Send this to your teacher friends so they can check out their Summer 2020 teacher horoscope, too!
