Mom’s Rant About Giving Teachers More Credit Will Make Your Day

From the popular “mom-centric” videos all over social media, Kristina Kuzmic takes a couple minutes to tell teachers how amazing they truly are. The two and a half minute rant is filled with exactly what teachers want to hear at the end of another long week of teaching. Read to the end to watch the video.

If I ruled the world, teaching would be one of the highest-paid professions. We would be putting them on a pedestal and treating them like royalty,” she says. “Saints, I tell you. Saints!

There’s no doubt teachers have one of the most difficult, exhausting, and extremely important jobs. Teachers know that. But it’s always nice to hear it being acknowledged by non-teachers, especially parents!

Teachers have to put up with like 30 (sometimes more) different personalities every single day — kids who come from different families, different backgrounds, kids with behavioral issues, or emotional issues.

Kristina mentions in her rant, a teacher’s salary “is not enough,” so parents need to stop complaining and trying to lecture teachers, but instead give them a “thank you”:

Thank you for investing in my child and teaching them all the things I have no clue about and would have to spend hours Googling.

She couldn’t be more right. Some parents have no idea how much a simple gesture of gratitude can do for an exhausted teacher at any point in the year. And it’s true when she says that teachers get up every morning and “willingly” decide to go back to school and “face the circus all over again!” We chose this profession, not for the glamour, fame & money, but because we care about education and making a difference in the lives of children. We don’t need to be put on a pedestal, given a crown, an Oscar, or a million dollars (although we probably wouldn’t turn it down!). Sometimes, all we need is a little recognition, a little support. After all, we’re on the same team!

Teachers, I seriously adore you, and I have no idea how you do it all, day in and day out,” she says. “But I am so thankful for you.”
