50 Simple Acts of Self-Care Teachers Can Do in Under Five Minutes

As the saying goes, “you can’t pour from an empty cup,” meaning that it is vitally important for caretakers like teachers to take a timeout to care for themselves. The act of seeing to our own needs is called self-care, and in a world where teachers are swimming in a never-ending to-do list, adding something else (even if it’s simple self-care!) can feel like the straw that breaks the camel’s back.

Options touch on meditation, exercise, nutrition, connection with loved ones, good sleep hygiene, gratitude, and being present in the moment. The most important part of self-care is doing something that appeals to you personally, so comb through this list and try out your favorites to refill your cup.
