After a year like no other, these teachers haven’t lost their sense of creativity. A popular new trend on the “Teachergram” is the #lastdayofschool dress. Teachers on Instagram are buying basic white dresses off of Amazon and having their kids draw/paint them on the last day of school using fabric paint or fabric markers. It’s a fun way to end the school year, and an amazing 2020-2021 school year souvenir from students to keep and cherish forever.

“Sometimes arming a bunch of 5 & 6-year-olds with markers doesn’t have to result in disaster. In fact, it can turn into a beautiful work of art!” said Madison Jantzen on her Instagram post.

Whatever your students’ age, you can be sure this will be a big hit. For older kids, have them write a favorite quote, something they learned in your class, or simply a word that describes the 2020-2021 school year.

“The result was pretty spectacular. They had a blast creating art together and loved seeing me wear it today! Now I will always have the best first-year teacher memory of all time! I will cherish this dress forever!”

Other teachers are now jumping on the band wagon and we’re IN LOVE with this keepsake idea!

THE best way to end the last day of school!

-Alexandra Zynda, 1st grade teacher

“One of my favorite outfits is always worn on the lassstttt day of school ❤️⁣ I get a plain dress from Amazon and have each kid draw one thing of their choice on it the second to last day of school. Then I wear it in the last day! This year we have baby Yoda, the sun and multiple planets (we learned about the solar system can you tell ), an angel, a rainbow, and so many more cute things. Their faces lit up when they saw me with it today and it’s just one of those things that made today even better.”
